About Me
I am a self-taught Romanian artist with a background in engineering. My artistic journey has developed independently, through continuous experimentation, observation, and a sustained interest in the language of contemporary painting. I work primarily with acrylics and impasto, focusing not only on the image itself but also on the physical presence of paint, relief, texture, and the ability of the painted surface to convey emotion.
The human figure occupies a central place in my work. I use it as a territory in which vulnerability, isolation, tension, and inner transformation can be explored. I am particularly interested in the encounter between the realism of the human body and the abstract intervention of matter, between human fragility and the physical strength of the painted surface.
In recent years, I have focused on developing a personal visual language in which impasto is not merely decorative, but becomes an essential part of the meaning of the work. I want each painting to function simultaneously as an image, an object, and a visual experience, balancing expressive force, structure, and conceptual depth. My practice remains an ongoing exploration, driven by the desire to develop an authentic and recognizable artistic direction.
